Incomplete post medieval lead two-disc cloth seal dating to the period c. AD 1500 - 1700. One disc is smooth, with no trace of any design visible. Projecting from one side is the stub of the xconnecting strip. The second disc is incomplete and exhibits traces of a relief knotwork design, possibly a merchant's mark.

An incomplete cast lead-alloy cloth seal probably issued under Charles I and dating c. 1625-1649. Only one disc of the original object survives, with the scar from its original circular integral stud visible on its reverse face. On the outer face of the surviving disc, the design of a crowned Tudor rose has been stamped, flanked by the initials 'C R'. Preserved in fair condition with an uneven greyish patina, it measures 16.28mm in diameter, 1.04mm thick and weighs 1.46g. A similar cloth seal has been recorded on the PAS database, see record SF-D45E92.

Disc 2 or 3 of a post-medieval lead 4-part cloth seal, diameter 12.5mm. PE / NIS / TON / 78 within a pelleted border. Penistone, formerly in the West Riding, is in South Yorkshire. 17th century. See Egan 1987, 149, 248-9 and 423. "By the 18th century the woollen trade was mainly in the area around Penistone, an outlier of the West Yorkshire industry. The coarse 'Penistone' cloth, usually white, was produced by cottage handloom weavers in this area since at least the 16thC" (Bayliss 1995, 53)."
