A post-medieval lead-alloy cloth seal. The seal comprises two sub-circular discs and a folded connecting strip. One disc bears the relief-stamped legend 'AG/LSS/BA', with traces of a border around. This is a seal of the Norwich Weavers' Company, struck between c. 1650 and 1705. The letters on the reverse are probably those of the wardens of the company (see Egan 1995: 46).

Lead cloth seal fragment. Cast disc with stamped motif within a granulated outer circle. The motif is a lion rampant with a short vertical bar below its left or lower paw; kindly identified by Paul Cannon as the numeral 1, standing for one penny duty paid.. Though associated with the Low Countries, the lion rampant appears more widely as a device on cloth seals. Paul kindly adds: 'I think this is a single disc from a four-part cloth seal. For a parallel see http://www.bagseals.org/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=21702 From this the object beneath the lion's paw is the numeral 1, for 1 penc…

A lead alloy cloth seal probably dating from the 16th century. The front of the disc has a raised design consisting of a crowned Lombardic letter H flanked on the left by a sprig of foliage, or perhaps a saltire. All of this is contained within a beaded circle. On the reverse is the remains of the other disc. Compare NLM-3BF1C1 and IOW-4A5FC1 as well as LIN-A05668 which has the legend HENRICVS REX surrounding the design surviving. The Lincolnshire record notes that: "The legend probably refers to Henry VII because of the probably open (non-imperial) crown (or possibly Henry VI). The c…

Diameter (long axis): 24.6mm, Thickness (overall): 2.8mm, Weight: 5.84gms.
