A post-Medieval cast lead four-part cloth seal with a joining strip. Disc 2: Bust of George I right. Disc 3: Lion couchant guardant left, I [1/2] (alnage fee) behind head. The seal mainly has a buff patina although some of this has been lost due to recent superficial damage. 17.9 x 13.5 x 3.4mm. Weight: 2.87g. Part of a similar cloth seal has been recorded and illustrated (Egan 1994: 73, ref: 189).

An incomplete post-Medieval cast lead or lead-alloy cloth seal of probable 16th or 17th century date. The seal is of two parts. Disc 1: Scratched numeral, 24. Probably related to the weight or length of cloth. Disc 2: Raised design within a circular beaded border. Possibly ligated letters. The rectangular connecting strip measures 8.1 x 4.6 x 2.7mm. Both discs have traces of a buff patina. Disc 2 has a small break at the edge. 27.1 x 20.5 x 4.4mm. Weight: 7.01g. The weight may include soil between the discs.

Disc 2: (castle initial mark) [ ]COMI??[ ]TV.[ ]T.; Crowned portcullis, E R beside crown; C D beside portcullis. The seal is probably Elizabethan. It has a corroded buff patina with a matt black area over the portcullis. Maximum diameter: 24.1mm; thickness: 2.3mm. Weight: 8.62g.

A complete post-Medieval cast lead cloth seal with the remains of cloth. A two-part seal: Disc 1: [ ]ARSE/ERGEI (or T) within a beaded circle. Disc 2: 37 (scratched). The joining strip is intact and disc 2 is much larger than disc 1. Between the discs and joining strip a fibrous brown material, the remains of cloth, can be seen. This seal is grey and is partially covered with a buff patina. Height: 42.08m. width: 32.50mm; thickness: 5.68mm. Weight: 18.28g.

A slightly misshapen post-Medieval cast lead-alloy cloth seal from the Low Countries (16th to 17th century AD). The seal probably originated in Turnhout (modern Belgium). This upper disc is sub-circular and the upper surface depicts a figure of St Peter standing facing right holding a large key in the left hand. The key in the right hand and part of the legend are missing due to being 'off-flan'. Partial inscription: S[ ]NT/[ ]. A complete post-Medieval two-part cast lead cloth seal. The two discs are joined together by a rectangular joining strip (5.0 x 4.6mm). Both discs have a raised design. Disc 1: Mostly illegible, part of the design survives. Disc 2: Within a circular beaded border, a tower of two storeys. The lower storey has an arched doorway and the upper storey has an arched window. The tower is flanked on either side by an open crown. A complete post-Medieval cast lead disc, probably from a four-part seal (c. 1700-c. 1750). This disc has part of a connecting strip. One side has a unicorn rampant left with 3 to left. The reverse possibly has a head/bust facing left which may be that of Queen Anne or George I. It has a buff patina. Height: 17.31mm; width: 16.87mm; thickness: 0.82mm. Weight: 1.69g. Similar cloth seals have been published (Egan in Saunders 2001: 62, ref: fig. 23. ref: 102; Egan 1994: 69, fig. 28, ref: 164).

An incomplete Medieval to post-Medieval cast lead cloth seal (c. 1450-c. 1550). The design on both faces is raised. One face has a crowned royal arms and the other face has a triple stranded cross with a mullet and 'annulet' in one quadrant. Length: 18.50mm; width: 12.64mm; thickness: 3.44g. Weight: 3.94g. The seal has a buff patina overall. No analogy found. However, compare with Egan 1994: 56, ref: 110. Egan: 2001, in Saunders (ed), 'Salisbury Museum Medieval Catalogue Part 3', 50, fig. 19, ref: 8; 56-60, figs. 21, 22, refs: 43, 44, 63, 64, 72 and 77.
