A complete and damaged Modern two-part lead cloth seal of the War Department relating to the Army Clothing Factory at Pimlico, London (c. 1857-c. 1932). This cloth seal has two discs connected by a joining strip at the edge and held together by a rivet at the centre. Disc 1: 44 1/4 (formed of incuse scratch marks) Disc 2 Two stamped concentric circles: [W] (broad arrow) D at centre; [PIM]LICO within circles Coarse brown fibres are present between the discs. An incomplete Medieval to post-Medieval cast lead cloth seal (c. 1450-c. 1550). The design on both faces is raised. One face has a crowned royal arms and the other face has a triple stranded cross with a mullet and 'annulet' in one quadrant. Length: 18.50mm; width: 12.64mm; thickness: 3.44g. Weight: 3.94g. The seal has a buff patina overall. No analogy found. However, compare with Egan 1994: 56, ref: 110. Egan: 2001, in Saunders (ed), 'Salisbury Museum Medieval Catalogue Part 3', 50, fig. 19, ref: 8; 56-60, figs. 21, 22, refs: 43, 44, 63, 64, 72 and 77.

A complete post-Medieval cast lead disc, probably from a four-part seal (c. 1700-c. 1750). This disc has part of a connecting strip. One side has a unicorn rampant left with 3 to left. The reverse possibly has a head/bust facing left which may be that of Queen Anne or George I. It has a buff patina. Height: 17.31mm; width: 16.87mm; thickness: 0.82mm. Weight: 1.69g. Similar cloth seals have been published (Egan in Saunders 2001: 62, ref: fig. 23. ref: 102; Egan 1994: 69, fig. 28, ref: 164).

A slightly misshapen post-Medieval cast lead-alloy cloth seal from the Low Countries (16th to 17th century AD). The seal probably originated in Turnhout (modern Belgium). This upper disc is sub-circular and the upper surface depicts a figure of St Peter standing facing right holding a large key in the left hand. The joining strip is intact and disc 2 is much larger than disc 1. Between the discs and joining strip a fibrous brown material, the remains of cloth, can be seen. A complete post-Medieval two-part cast lead cloth seal. The two discs are joined together by a rectangular joining strip (5.0 x 4.6mm). Both discs have a raised design. Disc 1: Mostly illegible, part of the design survives. Disc 2: Within a circular beaded border, a tower of two storeys. The lower storey has an arched doorway and the upper storey has an arched window. The tower is flanked on either side by an open crown.
