An incomplete post-Medieval cast lead or lead-alloy cloth seal of probable 16th or 17th century date. The seal is of two parts. Disc 1: Scratched numeral, 24. Probably related to the weight or length of cloth. Disc 2: Raised design within a circular beaded border. Possibly ligated letters. The rectangular connecting strip measures 8.1 x 4.6 x 2.7mm. Both discs have traces of a buff patina. Disc 2 has a small break at the edge. 27.1 x 20.5 x 4.4mm. Weight: 7.01g. The weight may include soil between the discs.

A complete post-Medieval cast lead disc, probably from a four-part seal (c. 1700-c. 1750). This disc has part of a connecting strip. One side has a unicorn rampant left with 3 to left. The reverse possibly has a head/bust facing left which may be that of Queen Anne or George I. It has a buff patina. Height: 17.31mm; width: 16.87mm; thickness: 0.82mm. Weight: 1.69g. Similar cloth seals have been published (Egan in Saunders 2001: 62, ref: fig. 23. ref: 102; Egan 1994: 69, fig. 28, ref: 164).

An incomplete Medieval to post-Medieval cast lead cloth seal (c. 1450-c. 1550). The design on both faces is raised. One face has a crowned royal arms and the other face has a triple stranded cross with a mullet and 'annulet' in one quadrant. Length: 18.50mm; width: 12.64mm; thickness: 3.44g. Weight: 3.94g. The seal has a buff patina overall. No analogy found. However, compare with Egan 1994: 56, ref: 110. Egan: 2001, in Saunders (ed), 'Salisbury Museum Medieval Catalogue Part 3', 50, fig. 19, ref: 8; 56-60, figs. 21, 22, refs: 43, 44, 63, 64, 72 and 77.

A fragment of a post-Medieval lead cloth seal of early 18th-century date (1702-1714). The surviving disc with joining strips/tabs was probably part of a four-disc seal from the series featuring a monarch's head. As Egan (1994, 60) states, the relief designs on these alnage seals are characterised by fine detail resulting from well-engraved dies. A complete post-Medieval two disc lead-alloy cloth seal (c. 1550-c. 1700). The seal is formed of two discs linked by a rectangular tab. One disc had an integral projecting rivet on the inner side, the other a hole through the centre. (The rivet went through the cloth, through the other seal and was stamped flat to hold the seal to the cloth.) The back disc (with rivet) is plain. The projecting end of the rivet has raised a merchant's/privy mark.
