An incomplete post-Medieval cast lead or lead-alloy cloth seal. This is probably a two part seal. No evidence for a connecting strip. Disc 1: Blank; smooth with dents. Disc 2: (castle initial mark) [ ]COMI??[ ]TV.[ ]T.; Crowned portcullis, E R beside crown; C D beside portcullis. The seal is probably Elizabethan. It has a corroded buff patina with a matt black area over the portcullis. Maximum diameter: 24.1mm; thickness: 2.3mm. Weight: 8.62g.

An incomplete cast lead century cloth seal of late 16th to early 17th century (c. 1550-c. 1650). Disc 1 of a two part disc. The front face has is slightly convex and has a raised design consisting of crowned initials: I B. These letters are divided by a vertical branch with multiple leaves on either side. Disc 1: has integral rivet and the face has a raised design consisting of a pair of shears, a pair of tongs and a pair of gloves within a beaded circle forming a border. Disc 2: has a raised design consisting of a privy mark, WH within a beaded circle forming a border. Both faces have traces of a buff patina. Height: 18.7mm; diameter: 15.1mm; thickness: 3.64mm. A complete post-Medieval two-part cast lead cloth seal. The two discs are joined together by a rectangular joining strip (5.0 x 4.6mm). Both discs have a raised design. Disc 1: Mostly illegible, part of the design survives. Disc 2: Within a circular beaded border, a tower of two storeys. The lower storey has an arched doorway and the upper storey has an arched window. The tower is flanked on either side by an open crown. The seal mainly has a buff patina although some of this has been lost due to recent superficial damage. 17.9 x 13.5 x 3.4mm. Weight: 2.87g. Part of a similar cloth seal has been recorded and illustrated (Egan 1994: 73, ref: 189).
