A incomplete lead cloth seal or other seal dating from the post medieval period, about AD 1500 - 1800. It is a two disc seal with a connecting tab. An integral rivet from the back of one disc passes through a hole in the other and is flattened. The rivet disc is marked with a relief merchant's mark of a W with a vertical line and a numeral 4 at the top. The rove disc has an incuse marking which may represent a G. The mark comprises the letters G Z H over a central stalk, with perpendicular arms over a loop at the base and an unclear projection obove, (similar to an upside down anchor). A Post Medieval lead alloy cloth seal probably dating from AD 1550-1650. This cloth worker's personal seal is formed of two discs. One disc is solid, and one was formed with an integral hole for the rivet to be placed when fastening the seal to the cloth. The two part seal has a connecting strip and integral rivet on one of the discs. The rivet is visible on the reverse of the disc.
