A circular, lead-alloy seal. It is 20.2mm in diameter and 7.5mm thick. The remains of the ferrous wire used to fasten the seal protruds from one edge, which increases the length to 26.5mm and iron corrosion can also be see in the middle of the seal, between the two lead alloy discs. It weighs 16.75gm. The front of the seal is stamped with a crown over an upward pointing arrow and a "T" which in turn are above a number "6". A similar seal with an iron wire attached is LIN-A8A236. A lead two-disc cloth seal of modern date (probably about 1940-1950). The seal comprises one surviving sub circular disc and the rivet. Some remnants of cloth are also present on the seal. On the disc is a relief-stamped inscription: W D (War Department) flanking an upwards pointing arrow, inside a circle. Above the circle is another inscription which, due to wear and damage, is illegible. Much of the upper disc was broken off and is now missing. A folded, lead alloy seal, possibly a modern cloth inspection seal dating from AD 1800 - 1950. The seal is a single sheet of lead which is folded double and fastened shut with a central rivet. One face, pierced by the fastening stud, has a rounded end and carries an impression in relief reading: "[...]IM(P)SON A[...]" round the edge. A lead alloy seal, probably a cloth seal, probably dating from 1821. It consists of two circular discs of lead connected by a narrow strip that is folded so that the discs are pressed together. A lead two-part cloth or bag seal probably dating from AD 1700 - 1900. Originally it had two circular discs joined by a tab, but only one now survives. The surviving disc has an integral oval tab which was pushed through a circular hole in the other disc before the seal was stamped. Part of an impressed deisgn is visible on the oval tab, in the form of raised, obliquely crossing lines. Post medieval or modern Russian oval lead-alloy seal. The seal is stamped on one side with an inscription in two lines, the other side is blank. There are the remains of the hole running from side to side through which the thread would have run. The inscription is in Cyrillic but probably includes the place of stamping and the name of the quality control official in charge of stamping. A modern lead-alloy disc probably from a four-disc type cloth seal issued by Weres, Matravers & Fox of Wellington, Somerset. One disc survives, with cracks on the inner surface, and with stubs of strips for attachment at opposing ends. A Dutch customs house oval lead cloth seal of modern date. It bears raised decoration on both faces: one face is marked R & A//279' (Regten en Accynsen//control number) and the other face has a crown above a shield bearing a lion rampant facing left, all within a border. The emblem is of the Lesser Arms of the Netherlands, and therefore post 1815. There are grooves on diametrically opposed edges marking the locations of the attachment cords. The dimensions are; length 22.5mm; width 19.7mm; thickness 4.1mm and it weighs 10.8g.

A modern lead bag seal of the Christchurch Meat Company of Canterbury in New Zealand dating to c. post 1889. Round in form being 17.4mm diameter and thickness 2.6mm. The obverse has an inscription around the outside of the seal CHRISTCHUR[CH] MEAT CO and across the face CANTERB[URY] / N[Z] in two lines. The reverse has the initials CMC. The Christchurch Meat Company was formed in 1889 and mainly dealt with refrigerated and frozen sheep and cattle. It also had a large trade in by-products and fertilizers.

Lead bag seal. Cast disc with a pair of holes in opposite edges, to function as a drawstring bag closure. One side bears a stamped trade mark comprising crowned cabled rim and plain inner circle with a billeted bar across it with vegetal garniture, and the legend: GOOD SEEDS / CARRIAGE FREE / REGISTERED, with the larger legend: TRADE M[ARK RE]G[ISTERED] outside it. The opposite side is stamped centrally: SUTTON AND SONS, with an outer legend: SEEDSM[EN BY APPOINTMENT ENG]LAND. Founded in 1806, the firm was warranted by Queen Victoria in 1858. Suggested date: Modern, 1858 - c1900.

The legend around the edge reads [...] FT / BERGMANN [...] GEWERK, suggesting a German origin. On the other face is a design of crossed hammers or possibly crossed axes. The edges are heavily chipped and jagged. The seal has a uniform grey patina, with patches of rusty-brown corrosion. It has a thickness of 5.61mm and a diameter of 21.55mm. It weighs 11.96 grams.
