An incomplete lead alloy Cloth Seal of late Medieval to Post-Medieval date (AD 1525 - 1724). The object is one disc from a two or four disc set. It is sub-circular in plan and flat in section. One side is stamped with a crown with 2 above within a beaded boarder. Crowns are a common motif on cloth seal of the Post-Medieval period. Length: 14.99mm, Width: 13.70mm, Thickness: 1.34mm, Weight: 1.4g The metal is cream in colour with a smooth patina.

A lead cloth seal. A two part seal folded in half. The main body of the seal is circular with a smaller, sub-circualr projection at one side.The front hallf is stamped with a crowned fleur de lis flanked by two letter Is. The seal is fixed shut by a split tab passed through a hole in the sub-circular projection, the end being bent back like a paper fastener. An incomplete lead medieval to pist-medieval cloth seal. Only one sub-discoidal section survives. Two strips projecting from the centre of the reverse are all that is left of a section that would have passed through a hole on another disc originally, securing them together with the aid of a further strip joining one of the sides. The object is composed of two sub-circular discs which would have been connected by a short rectangular tab, now missing, with the two discs folded to meet. One face of the object has a moulded letter A, for the city of Augsburg. The second face has an unclear moulded linear motif. An incomplete post medieval lead alloy cloth seal from the German city of Augsburg for linen and cotton fabric known as "Ousbrow or Augusta fustians" (Elton (2017) p296). One side has a stylistic, lower case letter ‘a’ within a beaded border. The reverse has a pine cone, the heraldic badge of Augsburg. Circa 16th to early 17th century.

The seal is circular in plan and comprises two equal sized lead discs linked by a recurved rectangular tab. One face has a punched inscription reading I F. The other face has the punched initials O H. Length: 32.91mm, Width: 18.94mm, Thickness: 2.89mm, Weight: 6.6g The metal is cram in colour with a predominantly smooth patina.
