A lead-alloy cannonball in the form of a solid-cast sphere. The piece is roughly cast and the surface exhibits numerous marks, including linear grooves and shorter, shallow depressions, most of which are likely to be post-depositional damage. Diameter: 47.1mm. Weight: 640g. This object is significant in that its findspot is close to the suggested site of the Second Battle of St. Albans, which was a conflict in the Wars of the Roses and was fought on 17th February, 1461.
