A post-medieval, cast iron cannon ball, probably for the type of light cannon known as a falcon, dating from 1600-1800AD. It is 2.5 inches in diameter and weighs just under 2.5lbs. It was found within range of Penistone Church, which is known to have been garrisoned by the Parliamentarians in the English Civil wars.
