Small cannon ball of probable post-medieval (English Civil War) date (1600-1700AD) The cannonball is spherical with a diameter of 44.1mm. It weighs 351 grams (12.25 ozs). It has been made in iron which has been presumably cast. There is a small linear ridge running around part of the ball, which might be the remains of the casting flange. The ball is of a mid-brown orange colour with small areas of slight flaking and active corrosion.
