Post Medieval (late 15th to 17th century) cannon ball: It is a cast iron sphere and is 51.63mm diameter. It weighs 494g (1.09lb). The surface of the ball is corroded and appears to be stable. The cannon ball is probably used in a Falconet cannon based on the weight and diameter of the ball. This cannon is the smallest of the cannons developed in the late 15th century and continued in use into the 17th century https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falconet_(cannon).

Post Medieval (late 16th to 17th century) probable cannon ball: a broadly hemispherical corroded cast iron object which is heavily corroded. There are no signs of makers marks or casting seams, but these may be distorted by corrosion. It weighs 233g and measures c.650mm diameter. Although an inexact science, comparisons can be made with historic inventories of cannon shot, their dimensions and weights (see Blackmore 1976).
