An iron cannon ball of possible Civil War date. The ball measures 73mm in diameter and weighs 1642g / 3lb 9.9oz. The ball is stamped with a mark which is worn and unclear, possibly 2G. The object is iron however corrosion has been cleaned off leaving it a mid-grey colour with light brown patches and traces of adhering iron corrosion. The object was discovered by the landowner and was picked up by the tractor tracks.
