Post Medieval cannon ball, or ball from ball mill. Cast iron with a diameter ranging between 83.6mm and 80.5mm (c. 3.3 inches. The ball weighs 1997.1g (4.4 pounds) and fails to fit into any of the accepted calibres for Civil War, or later ordnance hence the suggestion that it may have come from a ball mill. Small iron cannon ball, spherical iron ball. Diameter 40.2mm, weight 228g. Weighing c. 0.5lb, and measuring 1.5 inches this could have come from a Serpentine gun, a small matchlock cannon with c.1.5 inches bore firing 0.5lb shot.
