The frame fragment is rectangular in section and has what would have been a long edge that is narrower than the outer edge. Copper alloy buckle fragment. Cast housing for a spindle [lost] from a two-piece buckle with a plain rounded frame. The grey tint may arise from tin in the metal mix. The size hints at a shoe buckle. A small cast copper alloy post medieval sub annular buckle, probably from a shoe. The frame is 18.7mm long with rounded sides and is drilled for a separate spindle, now lost. One end of the frame has a notched pin rest.
