A complete copper-alloy buckle frame of Medieval to Post-Medieval date, circa AD 1250 - 1500.
The buckle is D-shape in plan and single looped. It has a narrow and off-set axis bar and the outer surface has bevelled edges. The pin is missing, presumed lost in antiquity. The reverse is flat and undecorated.
The buckle is dark green in colour and has an even surface patina.

A fragment from an ornate rectangular double looped buckle probably dating from c.AD 1350-1700. Only the outer edge of the narrow frame survives.
The frame fragment is rectangular in section and has what would have been a long edge that is narrower than the outer edge. This has a long projecting rectangular tab that projects 6.0mm from the frame. This tab has incised decoration on its upper surface consisting of two zigzag lines placed in a wavey pattern down the length of the buckle. The buckle has a dark green colour.

A complete cast copper alloy D-shaped buckle dating to the Post Medieval period c.AD1500-1650. The pin is missing.
The buckle frame has a vertical axis bar and then a broadly D-shaped frame having a curved outer edge. This outer edge is splayed the inner edge being higher than the outer. this angled edge has deeply incised decoration creating a series of wavey patterns. The axis bar is recessed and slightly offset with knops projecting from its tips away from the frame. The buckle has a glossy medium green patina.

A cast copper alloy buckle plate of later Roman date (Hawkes and Dunning (1961) type IIB), dating to, c. AD 250 - 400. The plate is rectangular with three rectangular perforations and a rivet hole at each corner. The sides and rear edge have decorative cusped borders. There is a ridge across the front end behind a pierced pin articulation and small bar which retains a copper alloy pin. The integrally cast frame has broken away and been lost.

The buckle is a sub-rectangular knee buckle with a drilled frame to house a separate chape. The frame is rectangular in cross section and has curved corners. The buckle would originally had a chape with a projecting double spiked tongue but this is missing. The metal has a dark grey patina with patches of brown rust where the chape would have been.
The buckle is 21.45mm long, 14.68mm wide, 1.53mm thick and weighs 1.05 grams.

A small cast copper alloy post medieval sub annular buckle, probably from a shoe. The frame is 18.7mm long with rounded sides and is drilled for a separate spindle, now lost. One end of the frame has a notched pin rest.
