A copper alloy rim fragment of a circular pot/bowl of indeterminate date but found in conjunction with Roman finds. The fragment is well cast with a plain rim set at right angles to the side of the bowl. Using a rim chart, the diameter of the original bowl is approximately 30cm. The surface has a light to mid green patina and the edges are well worn by its movement in the soil over time. It measures 61.28mm by 29.94mm, 2.06 thick weighing 26.5gm.

Roman ceramic bowl or cup fragment, AD 250-410. Length: 44 mm, width: 49 mm, thickness: 4 mm, base diameter: 35 mm. The bowl is incomplete but enough remains to see its form. It has an intact rim, whcih curves down towards the bowls base. This sits on an intact solid 'pedestal' which widens towards its base. The bowl/cup has a fine orange fabric and a brown slip. It has been roughly turned and has wire marks on its underside. Its colour fits it being a Nene Valley colour coat vessel or more southerly equivilent.

An incomplete late Roman Irchester bowl which was deposited with the rim facing the surface. Roughly a third of the bowl is missing. The bowl is 85mm in height, the base is convex and from the base the body expands to its maximum width just below the rim (256mm) before tapering inwards slightly to the rim (236mm) which has a bevelled edge (2.5mm thick). The omphalos base is convex on the outside and is domed upwards in the centre (70mm in diameter), internally the centre of the raised boss to the rim is 81mm. The base is perforated presumibly evidence of manufacture on a lathe. …

A Roman pottery fragment of a Samian ware bowl. It is the incomplete base of a shallow bowl. All that remains is small part of the pedestal foot and the body, with a slight curve forming the base of the bowl. The fabric is a light orange-pink colour with the slip being a dark orange-red. Evidence of it being wheel turned is on the base of the vessel. There is a feathered patterned band 21mm in from the base rim. Dimensions :Length - 74mm Width - 50mm Thickness -10mm Weight: 31.17g

A large sherd of a Roman black burnished ware bowl dating between 2nd and 4th century AD. The sherd icludes part of the rim and the wall. The bowl has a rounded, flat rim and a concave profile. The rim is not perfectly straight, indicating that the bowl was hand made. The fabric is a reduced grey colour with a burnished external surface and and oxidised internal surface. There are small micaceous inclusions as well as sand and flint. The sherd measures 59.25mm in length, 95.30mm in width, 7.02mm thick and weighs 73.30g.

A rim shard from a possibly Roman New Forest colour-coated fineware vessel, probably a bowl, dating to the period AD c. 260-370. The fabric is fine and oxidated (orange) with a reddish browna slip. The rim turnes out and the side is slightly concave. The external face is decorated with a curvilinear design. The shard is 26.03mm in length, 28.32mm in width, 2.87mm in thick and weights 1.63g.

Incomplete copper alloy hanging bowl escutcheon with the end of the hook missing (broken in antiquity). The undecorated plate is lozengiform with chamfered edges. The flat reverse is covered in a deposit of silvery solder. Height 54mm. Width 22mm. Weight 16.07g. No parallel has been noted, but the elongated form and absence of decoration suggests it is Late Roman and not Early Medieval. 4th century.
