The sherd is a rim fragment of a probable ceramic bowl. The bowl has a wide hooked flanged rim and a bead on the interior edge of the rim. The bead is now missing, only the broken edge remains. All edges of the sherd are broken recently, the sherd is slightly abraded. The fabric is a fine mid orange coloured with occasional cream coloured inclusions. The surfaces have an incomplete shiny red/brown coloured slip. The sherd weighs 4.9g. The sherd is probably Samian Ware, suggesting the vessel is a table vessel, rather than used for utilitarian purposes. Samian Ware was imported into …

The sherd is a rim fragment of a bowl. The rim has a flange which has high-relief moulded decoration consisting of trailed leaves. The rim is slightly curved in profile. The fabric is Samian ware, and has a fine brown/red colour with a shiny red surface. It weighs 22.5g. Webster (Webster, P. 1996 ‘Roman Samian Pottery in Britain’ Practical Handbook in Archaeology 13 CBA) describes the form and decoration as Curle 11, with a ‘B’ type rim. This rim is therefore thought to date to the Flavian period. Curle 11 was produced until the c.140s, according to Webster.

The sherd is a base fragment, possibly from a bowl jar. The base has an integral foot ring. The ware is oxidised ware, with orange coloured surfaces with a mid grey coloured core. The fabric is quite soft, but gritty in texture. There are frequent white, rounded quartz-like inclusions. The ware may be Severn Valley Ware, therefore dating to the Roman period. The breaks are quite fresh. It weighs 31.29g.

The sherd is a wall portion of a decorative vessel dating tot the roman period. The decoration comes in the form of rouletting which is often found on bowls or beakers. The rouletting does not help narrow the date (Cracknell and Mahany ed. 1994 Roman Alcester: Southern Extramural Area Part 2: Finds and Discussion CBA Research Report). The fabric is quite hard and has a mid grey core with oxidised orange surfaces. The interior surface is lighter in colour than the exterior. The fabric is quite fine with no obvious inclusions The sherd weighs 17.38g.
