The obverse has the inititals WL stamped at an angle,within a circular cartouche. The reverse is undecorated. The weight measures 14.5 mm in length and is 14.3 mm wide. Cast copper alloy apothecary weight, square in plan and rectangular in profile and section. Both faces of the weight have the symbol Эÿ in relief within a square border. This is the mark of the value for two scruples, and each scruple weighed 20 grains or 1.296g, so two scruples should weigh 2.592g. This weight weighs 2.6g so it equates to the standard weight. The word 'scruple' comes from the Latin scrupulus or 'a small pointed chipping of stone' and it was the smallest unit in the English apothecaries' system of weights. Both faces are stamped with a mark of value for two drachms (7.78g). This weight measures 15.72mm in length, 14.46mm in width, 4.71mm in thickness, and 7.36g in weight. This is an apothecaries' weight of Post-Medieval date falling just below the standard weight for two drachms. It is likely to date to between the 17th and 19th centuries AD (see Withers and Withers, 1995: p. 65; Biggs, 1992: pp. 8-9)

On one face is a stamped mark of value for a half drachm (1.94g), the other face is unmarked. This weight measures 10.46mm in length, 10.22mm in width, 2.44mm in thickness, and 1.75g in weight. This is an apothecaries' of Post-Medieval date falling just below the standard weight for a half drachm. It is likely to date to between the 17th and 19th centuries Ad (see Withers and Withers, 1995: p. 65; Biggs, 1992: pp. 8-9).

Alternatively underweight for 2 drams Avoirdpois (= 54.6 grains). 13.6 x 13.3 x 1.9mm. 16th-17th century. It is interesting to note that a very similarly decorated weight, for 1 drachm (= 3 scruples) has been recorded from the same parish (HER 39935, NMS-8AC242).
