A wrought Iron nail of uncertain but probably post medieval date (c 1500 -1850 AD It has a square shank, tapering to a blunt point, and a flat, sub-triangular head, heavily corroded and bent at an angle to the shank. The nail is bent into a shallow S-shape. Shank is 10.5 mm thick, tapering to 3 mm. Head is 23.7 mm wide. Overall length 80 mm. Weight is 33.8 g

A fragment of an iron hand made nail of uncertain date. The head has heavy corrosion, it shows a sub rectangular plan, sloping to each corner, and each face has a sub triangular, almost D-shaped profile. The shank has a rectangular base, tapering to an apparently old break after 25 mm. Shank is 13 mm by 17 mm at the base, 10 mm by 13 mm at the break. The head is 44 mm wide, 48 mm long and 17 mm thick. The size of the head suggests the nail was not for use in domestic furniture. Possible door stud. An unidentified iron object, possibly a nail or stud of uncertain date. The object has a pyramid-shaped head and a roughly rectangular, tapering shaft which has a vane-like projection 11mm below the head. Overall, the object measures 53.5 mm long, 24 mm wide and 14.8 mm thick. The head measures 14.8 mm wide by 10.1 mm thick. The shaft is 8 mm wide below the head, tapering to 3 mm at the tip. The projection is 14mm wide. The object weighs 17.9 g. The object is black in colour and has an even patina.

An incomplete iron Roman to modern nail (AD c.43-c.2000), missing its tip. The head is broadly rectangular in shape and slightly D-shaped in cross-section. The stem is rectangular in cross-section and tapers from 18.8mm by 16.2mm below the head to 7.9mm by 3.0mm at the tip. Overall, the nail measures 70.9mm long, 44.9mm wide and 34.6mm thick. It weighs 91.94g.
