A Post-Medieval copper alloy dress fastener, probably dating to c. AD 1500-1650. The fastener consists of a piriform plate with a now highly abraded cast foliate design on its front face. The plate tapers into a slightl flanged transverse collar below which it terminates in a rear-facing sharp hook. An incomplete attachment loop expands from the broad end of the plate. One face appears to have originally been decorated with a cast foliate design, but is now highly abraded. Dimensions: length 33.2mm; width 14.5mm; thickness 1.7mm; weight 1.65g.

An incomplete cast Copper alloy hook; one half from a two-part hook-and-eye dress fastener. A concave triangular shaped plan with opposing knops close to the narrowed terminal where vestiges of the hook remain. It has two offset fixing holes one centrally placed and the other towards the larger end. The surface is now mid-brown, corroded with ferrous staining and some verdigris present. Length: 28.27mm, Width: 12.71mm, Thickness: 1.56mm, Weight: 1.51 g This fastener type dates circa 1500-1700 AD.

A complete and well preserved rectangular silver-gilt single sharp-hooked clasp dating to the 16th century, measuring 33.87mm in length and weighing 3.8g. Such items were worn during the Tudor period in order to secure items of clothing. The body of the clasp is cast and decorated with sheeting and wire. A very worn and incomplete cast copper alloy dress fastener (hooked tag) dating to the post-medieval epriod. The hooked tag is of Read's (2008) Class E Type 3 - having a sub-circular body depiciting a human bust, possibly of classical design, within a rounded frame. The attachment loop is broken and missing and at the opposing end the hook is incomplete. All elements of this hooked tag are very worn. For comparison see Read (2008) p92-94.
