A cast copper alloy clothes fastener dating to the 17th century AD. The plate is oval in shape and is decorated with a punched ring and floral motif within a punched ring border. At one end is a small circular attachment loop, with a rounded knop, similar knopped loops can be seen on either side. These eyes would have allowed the fitting to be sewn onto a garment. At the opposite end there is a rectangular loop, through which a ribbon wpuld have been passed. The reverse is undecorated. The object is worn with a mid reddish-brown patina.

An incomplete cast copper alloy dress-hook or hooked tag. The object consists of a circular plate with openwork, moulded decoration, with a rose in the centre. The hook and loop have broken off, all breaks are worn. The reverse is flat and undecorated. The plate has a raised rim, with two loops at the 11 and 1 O' clock position respectively. the rectangular loop survives on the top of the tag. The surface is light silvery-grey colour. This artefact is late medieval to early post-medieval in date.

There is a circular loop on either edge of the rectangular loop and one at the opposite end to the loop. Six decorative knops also visible. The plate itself has a decoratively moulded design within a moulded curvilinear and floral decoration. The surface is mid reddish-brown in colour. The reverse is undecorated. This fitting probably dates to the 17th - 18th century.

Possible silver moulded dress fastener dating from the 18th century. The object comprises a leaf-shaped, moulded body with loops for attachment and a hook. There is one loop at the apex and one to either side of the hook. The body of the fastener is decorated with a line of pellets at the centre with radiating lines on either side.

Identification supplied by Jim Halliday: The male section of a two part toggle fastener. A cast copper alloy, hollow backed toggle fastener with two rivet holes for the attaching of rivets, one of these rivets remains in place. The thin double collared circular male terminal is rounded and slightly offset to interlock with the open female fitting at the opposite side. This is only one piece of a pair of such fittings, the other is missing. These fittings most likely date from the 15th - 16th Century AD. TREASURE CASE : 2004 T450 Silver-gilt eyelet, the wire attachment loop soldered onto the backplate. The trefoil-shaped plate with wire filigree and granular ornament. The attachment loop formed as two small loops for sewing the fitting to textiles, and a larger loop for a hook. For a more elaborate example, see Treasure Annual Report 2001, no. 151. The precious metal content of the eyelet fulfils the requirements of the Treasure Act in that it is greater than 10%.

An incomplete cast copper alloy dress fitting of post-medieval date. The fitting is comprised of an ovate body with a bi-lobed openwork terminal projecting from one end. The opposite terminal has been lost to worn breaks. The body is decorated with a worn and indistinct pattern which may be foliate in nature. From the reverse a narrow tubular projection is present which was presumably used for attachment. The metal has a mid blackish-brown patina and is worn. The fitting is 21.4mm long, 9.4mm wide, 3.1mm thick and weighs 1.4g.

The toggle is undecorated. The metal has a dark reddish-brown patina and is worn. The toggle is 25.5mm long, 18.6mm wide, 6.7mm thick and weighs 6g. A sporadic white metal coating, probably tin, is present over the surface of the object. The dress hook is 27.6mm long, 14.2mm wide, 2.8mm thick and weighs 1.7g. A similar example is illustrated in Read, p.155, no.583 and is dated to the early post-medieval period.
