It appears to have been cast in one piece, in moulded relief. The item is sub-triangular in shape and is of a trifoliate openwork design. Below the sprouting elements is a large open loop, into which the hook part of the garment fastener would slide. The back of the fastener is flat, plain and undecorated.

Silver gilt post-medieval clothes fastener (eye clasp).
The item is circular and partially damaged. There are two integral attachment loops and there would have been a third, though this is now missing. The larger of the two loops may have acted as the eyelet portion of the fastener, rather than as an attachment loop per se.
The circular face of the clasp features raised moulded relief in the form of a human face. The reverse is flat and undecorated and bears a maker's mark, part of which is lost. The remaining mark reads 'T'.

Silver dress fastener or pin of probable Post Medieval date. The object is formed of three, broadly circular plates of decreasing diameter, attached centrally by a large silver rivet. The plates are all free moving and are convex, bending downwards away from the central rivet before turning up at the outer edge to give height and texture, rather than three flat discs. Each plate is notched from the outer edge towards the centre five times, creating five petals. The outer edge of each petal is notched further, creating broadly triangular projections. The central rivet is circular in se…
