An incomplete Post Medieval cast copper alloy openwork dress fastener, dating to c. AD 1600-1750. The find is the 'eye' half of a hook and eye fastener. The main body of the find is heart-shaped in plan with two small lobes above the heart. The rectangular loop which would have been above the two lobes in order to accept the clasp, is now missing, due to an old break. There is a trilobed projection into the centre of the heart at its apex. A complete cast copper alloy double sharp-hooked clasp (dress hook) of early Medieval date (c. 8th to early 8th century AD). The object consists of a central bar and two curved hooks. The central bar is sub-rectangular in plan and profile measuring 22.5mm long, 7.8mm wide and 4mm thick. A Post-Medieval copper alloy dress fastener, probably dating to c. 1550-1700. The loop or eye section of a two-part clasp. The object consists of an oval plate with a rectangular attachment loop at one end and a knopped perforated lug projecting from the other. There is a further knopped, perforated lug projecting from either side. The plate is decorated with a stamped plume motif, within a border of punched annulets and crescents. A Post-Medieval copper alloy dress hook, probably dating to AD 1500-1700. The dress hook is badly worn, but consists of a sub-rectangualr plate which tapers at one end into a truncated hook. A preseumed sewing loop at the attachment end has been lost. The plate has a cusped edge and moulded openwork decoration, although the details are unclear. A post-medieval copper alloy dress fastener, probably dating to AD 1550-1700. A sub circular fastener with moulded relief and openwork missing its hook. There is a pellet either side of the junction of the plate and the loop, a cross with central pellet which protrudes beyond the edges forming small rounded knops, and two knops either side of the hook. The fastener measures 21.7mm in length, 16.4mm in width, 1.67mm in thickness and weighs 1.26 grams. cf. No. 414 in Read (2008), Class E Type 3 and is dated to the early post medieval period.

The fastener fits into Read Class A Type 9 (2008: 178) with four circular attachment knops and a grooved ornamental knop at the bottom resembling a scalloped shell.
