A complete copper alloy post-medieval dress fastener, c. 16th century AD (1500 - 1650 AD) . The fastener is the 'female' tag from pair of hooked tags; it has a sub-oval plate with a large rectangular loop at one end. Either side of the plate are two rounded attachment knops, with a third debased trefoil attachment knop at the base of the clasp. An incomplete copper alloy Post Medieval decorative 'female' clasp from a pair of blunt-hooked clasps, c.mid-16th to 17th Century. The clasp has a sub-oval plate and is cast in the shape of an acorn. The acorn shape of the plate is emphasised with a set of two incised parallel horizontal lines delineating the upper acorn segment from the lower husk. A post-medieval copper-alloy hooked clasp, dating to c. AD 1645-1660. This is one section of the two part hooked clasp but the hook is partially missing. The object has a central circular plate, very slightly convex with a hollow reverse. Copper alloy 'male' tag from a pair hooked tags. The tag has a circular plate with the base of a truncated hook at one end.  Either side of the hook are two pierced lugs (one is missing) with a third at the rear for attachment. The centre of the plate is decorated with a central harp surrounded by two rows of ropework style concentric rings. This artefact dates to the 16th century. See SOM-405427 for the looped ‘female’ equivalent.

The fastener is the 'female' tag from pair of hooked tags; it has a sub-oval plate with a large rectangular loop at one end (now partially broken). Either side of the plate are two smaller pierced lugs, with a third at the rear of the tag for attachment (the third is also broken). The centre of the plate is decorated with a harp motif, which is likely to be a south western type. Cf. OXON-A8A1BE and GLO-EE60B7. Length: 37.22mm, width: 33.99mm, thickness: 2.94mm, weight; 7.18g.

An incomplete copper alloy single-hooked clasp of late medieval to early post-medieval date, c. 16th century AD. The form of the dress fastener comprises a trefoil of hollow domed bosses, each decorated with pellets and twisted wire filigree. The central circular depression is empty, but may originally have held glass or gem. Some evidence of white metal coating. On the back there is a soldered copper alloy attachment bar, and at the bottom, evidence of a broken hook.  Read, 2008: Class D Type 6, nos. 260-3. Cf. SF-CD194A and ESS-9B9893.
