An incomplete post-Medieval copper-alloy dress fastener eye-piece of Read's Class A, Type 2 (1500-1700). The sub-oval plate has moulded decoration at the front and is flat and plain at the rear. At one end are the scant remains of an eye-section attachment loop and at the opposite end there is an incomplete attachment knop. There are two further attachment knops just below the attachment loop, one at each side. The centre of the plate is decorated with two addorsed flowers on stalks and with leaves springing from a central bar. The object is reddish brown with some drab green patina.…

Copper alloy blunt-hook (Read Class A, Type 1) dating early post-medieval to Modern (c. 1500-1800AD). The hook is made from one piece of copper alloy wire with a loop at each end. The shank is bent back on itself at the mid point to form a hook. The hook has been flattened (see Read 2008, 155 No. 583). Length: 21.0mm; width: 8.5mm; thickness: 9.5mm; weight: 2.1g

Early post-medieval copper alloy dress fastener (the hook section of a two-part clasp) dating (c. AD 1550-1700). The fastener is broadly oval with three attachment loops to sew the item to a garment - two protecting from the sides (both of which is now incomplete) and one projecting out from the base of the object. A large integral hook projects from the other end of the main oval body separated with a raised band. Both sides of the clasp appear to be undecorated. Lead dress hook with a trefoil shaped serrated sided plate that supports three hemispherical domes. Each dome is decorated with a central boss on the top with four further bosses arranged evenly around the edge. In the centre of the plate is a large pellet that has three radiating ridges that dived the domes. On the reverse is a reward projecting rectangular lead loop, and at the lower edge is an expanded ridge that forms a socket that holds a rearward projecting hook made from a copper alloy pin.

An incomplete cast copper alloy blunt-hooked dress fastener dating to the early post-medieval period (AD 1550-1700). The fastener has an ovoid plate with incomplete decorative 'loop' at the apex and half of the blunt-hook at the opposite end. In the centre is the ovoid plate which is decorated with symmetrical floral designs in moulded relief with the remains of white and blue champlevé enamelling. There are two attachment holes within the plate (currently filled with soil). Similar to those illustrated in Read (2008:180) no. 687 (Class A type 11).

A nearly complete cast copper alloy dress fastener (dress hook / hooked tag) dating to the post-medieval period (c. AD 1500-1550). The fitting has a circular plate, trapezoidal loop and is missing only the tip of the hook. The main plate of the object is domed with a concave back and convex front; it has a raised, moulded design of a human bust, possibly Jesus Christ or John the Baptist, contained within a circular pelleted border. Part of a Post-Medieval copper alloy dress fastener, of Read's (2008) Class a type 10, dating to c. 1600-1700. The fastener consists of a lozengiform plate with slightly concave sides, with pairs of opposed scrolled volutes projecting from the two angles on the lateral sides. A rectangular loop projects from one longitudinal edge, with the juncture with the plate flanked by sewing loops. A third sewing loop projects from between a further pair of volutes (although one is lost) at the other longitudinal end.
