A complete copper alloy Strap Fitting of Post Medieval date (AD 1500-1750). The fitting is composed of a sub-circular plate with an integral upper trapezoidal attachment loop, two flanking circular loops and l lower loop. The front face of the object has a raised moulded design, composed of a stylised floral motif and a repeating scroll work/curvilinear motif forming four quadrants. The back of the object is flat and undecorated. The metal is dark green in colour with a slightly pitted patina. Length 39.76mm, Width 36.46mm, Thickness: 2.46mm, Weight 6.6g.
