Post Medieval cast copper alloy dress hook, of Read's Post Medieval type 1 class 2, c.f. no 646. It is sub-triangular in plan with the two longer edges being scalloped. There is a circular attachment loop at each corner and a forward facing hook extending from the shorter edge. Description: A silver gilt dress fastener. Probably the catch piece from a hook and eye fastening. The plate of the fastener is curvilinear in outline. Gilded copper alloy chain mail armour hook, broken into two pieces. When complete, this would have been an S-shaped object in plan, with circular terminals, one of a pair which together would have formed a hinged lyre-shaped fitting (see M.120). A fragment of a possible silver dress fitting. Shaped like the letter 'T' with gradual curving under the arms which point up from the stem to create two prongs. One prong is bent. The stem of this item may have been part of a recurving hook, however this has been broken off.

Incomplete hook plate, with most of the hook missing, from a post-medieval white-metal coated copper alloy blunt hooked clasp of Read 2008, Class A, Type 16, cf. no. 696 (NMS-84C863). Probably cast in the same mould as that published example and as another Norfolk find (NMS-539A87). The latter is poorly fettled but even on this present piece, however, two apertures nearest to the hook remain almost entirely blocked by metal. Extant length 31mm, width 21.7mm, thickness 1.2mm. 17th century.

Incomplete composite silver-gilt dress-hook (hook missing) with a lozenge-shaped back, to which 'rope-twist' filigree decoration had been soldered (3-strand filigree wire bordered by three circlets and granulated pellets in the corners, and 3 circlets on the four hollow, hemispherical bosses. A stamped maker's mark on reverse resembles a narrow (tanner's) hide in an oval field. The display face is partially gilded, with this treatment reserved for highlights of moulded detail, rather than being preserved in hollow contours as might be expected. Post-Medieval, 1700-1800. A well preserved post medieval cast copper alloy dress fastener. It is the eye catch piece for a corresponding missing hook fastener. The body of the catch piece is in the form of a right hand holding onto the loop which forms the 'eye'. The loop is circular with a circular hole, with four fingers over one side and a thumb wrapping around to the back of the fastener. On the hand's wrist is a ruff. This item seems to be an incomplete Post Medieval silver dressing fitting, made in one plane.
