It comprises a flat, oval plate, pointed one end,  the remnant of a rectangular attachment loop which is mainly all missing. Treasure Case 2022 T851 Description:  A complete silver gilded eye piece from a hook and eye fastener dating to the post medieval period (c.AD 1500-1700). The body of the piece is broadly heart shaped, with sewing loops either side of the point of the loop and a larger loop at the top of the heart. The large hoop is where the hook from the other part of the fastener would have previously been attached. An incomplete post medieval cast copper-alloy dress fastener dating to c.1500-1700. Sub-oval plate and flat in profile. The fastener has a central boss, surrounded by an openwork design. It has a rectangular attachment loop that is damaged, bent over behind the plate. The opposite end of the plate displays an old break that would once have been a short arm incorporating a hook.
