A complete copper-alloy hooked clasp. A single sharp-hooked clasp. It comprises a trapeziodal loop at the top of a solid, circular plate with a long tapering hook extending from the lower edge. The hook has a trapeziodal cross section and is curved backwards.It terminates in a sharp point. The circular plate is decorated with a moulded five petalled double rose. The tag has a circular openwork plate that is decorated with a central six petalled flower that is surrounded by four curvilinear scrollwork bands, this is all encased within a circular border. It consists of an oval flat plate which has three protruding attachment loops containing circular sewing holes, arranged at cardinal points. The plate is decorated with a flower like inscribed motif. The object is completed by a rectangular plate emerging from one end of the plate, which has been folded to form the hook that would loop through the partnering eye. The fastener has a rounded front but is missing the flat back plate. There is a broken hook projecting from one end of the fastener, and a large, secondary hole towards the rear terminal. The front of the fastening is decorated with a cross-hatched design boound top and bottom by a double linear. An identical example can be seen in Read (2008:54) no. 168.

An incomplete 17th-century copper alloy oval clasp-half, probably a hook-piece but the blunt hook is now missing. The oval plate is decorated with an engraved fleur-de-lis. The top of the plate is pierced through, suggesting a modification after an original end loop broke away. On each side is a projection, also pierced. Originally it was flat oval in shape, but only half of it remains. There is no suspension loop suggesting that this might be the lower half of the item. Post medieval copper alloy dress fastener, 34mm long, 18mm wide and 4mm thick with a weight of 4.71grams. The object is oval in form and is decorated with a series of incised lines creating a scallop shell effect. This is slightly cancave and hollow underneath. At the upper edge it has two tapering projections forming a V shape terminal and on each side under this is a circular fixing loop. Theres are traces of a third broken loop at the far end, this would have formed the 'eye' part of a two part dress fastener with a duplicate mount having a hooked end.
