An incomplete copper alloy dress fastener, or skirt lifter, of post-medieval date (c.AD 1700-1900). The object consists of a copper-alloy shaft that is circular in section. There is a small scoop at the end of the terminal, and at the other end is a break. The object has a dark green patina. According to DUR-CEA1D9, skirt lifters are a commonly found post-medieval to modern item, however, they are frequently misidentified as Roman ear scoops. A quite corroded Post-Medieval cast copper-alloy clothing fastening loop, dating to c.1550-1700. One half of a 'hook and eye' fastener type, consisting of a sub-triangular plate of plano-convex form with moulded decoration on the face and two sewing holes adjacent to one another in the centre. The plate terminates with a trefoil of moulded knops at one end and a large curved sub-oval attachment loop at the other. The surface displays a green/brown patina.
