An incomplete copper alloy post medieval hooked tag, dating to 1600-1700 AD. The hooked tag is oval in shape, and has three attachment loops, two of which are now missing, with worn breaks. The remaining side loop is circular in shape. The face of the hooked tag is decorated with with a foliate design decending down the face. Below this is a floral trifoliate design. The object consists of an integral flat plate broadly oval in plan, divided into two asymmetrical halves; the larger (14.2mm wide, 6.5mm long, 1.7mm thick) half is decorated on its obverse face by three lobes radiating from the centre of the half’s lower edge. There is a small scoop at the end of the terminal, and at the other end is a break. The object has a dark green patina. According to DUR-CEA1D9, skirt lifters are a commonly found post-medieval to modern item, however, they are frequently misidentified as Roman ear scoops. One half of a 'hook and eye' fastener type, consisting of a sub-triangular plate of plano-convex form with moulded decoration on the face and two sewing holes adjacent to one another in the centre. The plate terminates with a trefoil of moulded knops at one end and a large curved sub-oval attachment loop at the other. The surface displays a green/brown patina.
