A copper alloy dress fastener element; the eye piece from a blunt-hooked, hook and eye clasp, of Post Medieval date, probably AD 1500 - 1800. The object is a pointed oval plate, with a broken sub-rectangular eye at one end, and a large circular hole perforating the other end. The front has a design in relief which is badly corroded and unintelligible apart from one curling scroll tendril near the eye. There are traces of a white metal coating. Description: Post-medieval blunt-hooked fastener made from a single piece of silver. The plate is a fleur-de-lis shape, with a large central lozengiform lobe and two much smaller back-to-back C-shaped lobes below. The lis sits above two quarter-circle projections, one to either side, with the curve above and the straight edge below. All of the edges of the plate have a filed sharp bevel, the tool marks from which survive.  A cast silver gilt looped portion of a post-medieval dress fastener. The item is sub-triangular in shape and is formed of the head and wings of a cherub. Below the head is a large open D-shaped loop, into which the hook part of the garment fastener would slide. Above the head are two smaller sub-circular attachment loops, through which thread would pass to sew the fastener into a garment. A post-medieval copper alloy dress fastener, probably dating to AD 1550-1700. A sub circular fastener with moulded relief and openwork missing its hook. There is a pellet either side of the junction of the plate and the loop, a cross with central pellet which protrudes beyond the edges forming small rounded knops, and two knops either side of the hook. The fastener measures 21.7mm in length, 16.4mm in width, 1.67mm in thickness and weighs 1.26 grams. cf. No. 414 in Read (2008), Class E Type 3 and is dated to the early post medieval period.

A cast copper-alloy 'eye' from a two piece hook and eye dress or clothing fastener of post-medieval date (c.1500-1700). Description: The eye consists of a circular 11.6mm diameter attachment loop which is integral with a plate that has a raised central boss and three 'sunburst style' wavy arms above. There are two fixing apertures either side of the central boss that have moulded collars between the apertures and the attachment loop. Measurements: Length 19.9mm, width 14.9mm, thickness 1.9mm and weight 1.9g.

A complete copper alloy hooked tag (dress hook) of Post Medieval dating (16th Century AD). The dress hook has a hollow domed with radiating grooves, representing a scallop shell. The eye is square. It is made from a single piece of circular sectioned wire which is bent back on itself to form a hook and two circular attachment loops. The fragment is incomplete consisting of just the central decorated openwork plate. The upper surface of which is decorated with stamped C shaped marks creating flower motiffs.
