An incomplete lead or lead alloy and iron medieval to post-medieval dress hook. It has a circular body and two ajoining circular suspension loops extending from one end. A break and traces of iron corrosion product at the opposite end suggests that an iron hook was attached here originally. The outer face of the circular section is decorated with a raised line around the outer edge and a central raised annulet with three double raised lines radiating outwards from it at regular intervals. Catch-piece from a dress fastener made of a silvery metal, probably a lead/tin alloy with a high proportion of tin. The plate is oval, and decorated with three concentric ridges around the edge; the central ridge is beaded. Within the ridges is a complicated and apparently asymmetric relief scrolly ?foliage design.
