Treasure case 2016 T1061: Disclaimed, returned to finder. Description: A fragment of a probably Post Medieval dress accessory of uncertain form, made of silver wire. The fragment consists of a triangular piece, broken and distorted along one edge but seemingly complete on the other two sides. The back of the object is made of silver wire laid in a grid, with interwoven strands like a net. Treasure Case 2015 T218: Disclaimed, returned to finder A complete post medieval silver-gilt eye piece from a hook and eye fastener. The body of the piece is broadly heart shaped with one sewing loop each side of the point, and a larger loop in the centre at the top where the hook from the other part of the fastener would have been inserted. A post medieval silver gilt decorative top from a hook and eye fastener dating to the period c. AD 1500 - 1700. The top is circular, domed on the front and concave on the back. Treasure case 2010 T399: Acquired by Museum of Somerset. Silver-gilt cast dress fastener, dome shaped with rope twist edging. Along the inside of the edging are five evenly spaced bosses with rope twist edging, each making contact. In the space left on the outside of these bosses is a triangular design of three smaller knops; two knops by the outer rope twist and the third completing the triangle. Silver dress fitting comprising a domed circle of silver, with design of three knops surrounded by raised filigree ropetwists and smaller knops within ropetwist border. On the back, a single hook made out of doubled twisted wire, terminating in two attachment loops, had been soldered on. This is a puzzling dress fitting and represents a new type. A Modern silver dress hook. Treasure Case 2009 T560. Dr Dora Thornton, Curator of Renaissance Collections, Department of Prehistory and Europe, British Museum, provided the following report: Silver(?) heart-shaped hook with impressed design of a flower and two holes for attachment. Design and facture indicate a modern date, probably early 20th Century.
