A lead alloy dress fastener of Read 2008 early post-medieval Class D Type 2, the separate hook is missing, consists of a twelve-petalled multifoil within a ring of pellets. On the reverse is a squashed loop, with a socket for the hook and in the centre an unexplained sub-square pad. Diameter 22.5mm. 16th century.

An unusual post-medieval copper alloy possible eye-plate from a blunt-hooked clasp, measuring 22 x 36mm. It comprises an oval openwork body with a central perforation in a moulded relief octofoil and an outside edge with opposed large and small trapezoidal loops. It dates from the 16th-17th century.

An incomplete Roman dress fastener, which resembles a button-and-loop fastener, but with an integral disc-headed rivet rather than a loop. It has a damaged oval plate and an angled projecting 'button' at one end. It measures 9 x 21mm and probably dates from the 1st century AD.

An unusual medieval/post-medieval large double-hooked dress fastener, with the hooked bar missing and a separate lozengiform front plate riveted to a hook with a smaller additional square plate in centre. The smaller plate has four engraved grooves producing a quatrefoil with lozengiform foils; the damaged larger plate is decorated with lines of finely engraved rocker-arm decoration, forming a border and a cross with arms running from point-to-point. Incomplete hook plate, with most of the hook missing, from a post-medieval white-metal coated copper alloy blunt hooked clasp of Read 2008, Class A, Type 16, cf. no. 696 (NMS-84C863). Probably cast in the same mould as that published example and as another Norfolk find (NMS-539A87). The latter is poorly fettled but even on this present piece, however, two apertures nearest to the hook remain almost entirely blocked by metal. Extant length 31mm, width 21.7mm, thickness 1.2mm. 17th century.

Post Medieval blunt-hooked dress fastener. The shield-shaped plate (corner missing) is decorated with a V-shaped notch between two concave cut-outs at the top (opposite the hook) and with an elaborate stamped rose. There are copper alloy rivets in the centre near the top and one at the base securing the remains of the short separate hooked back-plate. The hook curls forward and over to touch the front of the plate. 22 x 35mm. 17th-century dress fasteners, made in a variety of shapes, were used in pairs, one hooked and one with an eye (cf. Read 1995 nos.768-772).

Post Medieval double-hooked dress fastener, part of one integral hook missing. The plate with elaborately shaped sides and edges is decorated in counter-relief with scrolls and foliar motifs around a frame enclosing an inscription, MARIA, probably a reference to the Virgin. Plate 45.5 x 25.5mm. Overall length estimated at 66mm. Thickness 1.8mm. This is much more elaborate than fasteners found in Norwich (Norwich Households fig.9), and more akin to an example from Amsterdam (Baart et al. 1977 cat. no.160. 16th century
