Early Medieval ? copper alloy dress fastener, 15mm in length, 14mm wide and 0mm thick with a weight of 1.96grams.
The object is circular in form and rectangular in cross section, with two rounded 'ear' like projections with circular fastening holes close to each other on its outer edge. Opposite these are the remains of a rectangular projection which would have been hooked. The object is decorated with a raised pattern of grey/blackmaterial, probably niello?
