The clasp is composed by a single plate broadly oval shape with a rectangular knop on the upper part and two circular knops booth sides of the plate. The object consists of a trefoil shaped plate with faceted edges and old broken wire hook and transverse attachment loop.The front of the plate is decorated with three domed bosses. The terminal end has an open rectangular loop to accomodate the blunt hook from the other half of the clasp. The plate is worn and there is no visible decoration remaining on either side of the plate. A Post Medieval copper alloy hooked clasp or eye fastener of 17th century date. The front face is convex with a moulded relief scallop shell design. There are three integral attachment loops; one at the top of the shell, the other two are placed at each side of bottom of the shell. There is a rectangular attachment loop at the bottom of the fastener.The fastener is Read class A type 6. See Read (2008) page 174 No 657 and 659 for similar examples. An incomplete Early Post-Medieval (1500-1700) copper alloy decorated hooked tag of Read's Class A, Type 2 (with three attachment knops), hooked section. Two of the attachment loops are damaged, the rectangular loop at the top is missing. It measures 27.90mm in length, 27.1mm wide, 2.5mm thick and weighs 5.57 grams. It depicts a central expanding stem, and is comparable with Read, 2008; nos.639-44, with a spray of three flowers surrounded by ring-and-dot decoration flanking the outside edge.
