An incomplete cast copper alloy blunt-hooked dress fastener dating to the early post-medieval period (AD 1550-1700). The fastener has an ovoid plate with incomplete decorative 'loop' at the apex and half of the blunt-hook at the opposite end. In the centre is the ovoid plate which is decorated with symmetrical floral designs in moulded relief with the remains of white and blue champlevé enamelling. There are two attachment holes within the plate (currently filled with soil). Similar to those illustrated in Read (2008:180) no. 687 (Class A type 11).

A nearly complete cast copper alloy dress fastener (dress hook / hooked tag) dating to the post-medieval period (c. AD 1500-1550). The fitting has a circular plate, trapezoidal loop and is missing only the tip of the hook. The main plate of the object is domed with a concave back and convex front; it has a raised, moulded design of a human bust, possibly Jesus Christ or John the Baptist, contained within a circular pelleted border. A cast copper alloy dress fastener with a white metal coating c. 1550 - 1650 AD. This example is described in Read's as an Early Post Medieval Class A Type 1a with a single blunt-hook and eye clasps. The surface is heavily eroded with fragment of a silver coating and ferrous staining beneath.

A complete copper alloy dress fastener (dress hook) dating to the early medieval (Anglo-Saxon) period. The fastener has a shield-shaped plate with trilobed upper terminal each with a perforation, to secure to fastener to an item of dress. At the narrow end of the plate a short, tightly curved hook extends towards the rear of the plate. There is no decoration on either side of the plate. Read's Class D, dating from c. 700 - 1100 AD.

A complete lead and copper alloy dress fastener (dress hook / hooked tag) of early post-medieval date. The dress hook has a large lozenge-shaped head decorated with raised pellets around a central lozenge-shape cell. On the reverse of the dress hook is a rectangular bar for attachment to clothing. At the base of the plate the copper alloy hook is inserted into a lead sleeve. The hook is complete. Similar dress hooks are illustrated in Read (2008:68). They date to the 16th century AD.

A complete but worn cast copper-alloy dress fitting / hooked tag dating to the post-Medieval, c.16th century AD. The tag is formed from longitudinal rectangular panel, with engrailed side edges. At the juncture of the integrally cast hook and the main plate is a ribbed collar while at the opposite end is a horizontal bar attachment loop. The hook is complete and curved back on itself. The front of the fitting has decoration but it is too worn to discern. Read (2008) Class E Type 1.

A very worn and incomplete cast copper alloy dress fastener (hooked tag) dating to the post-medieval epriod. The hooked tag is of Read's (2008) Class E Type 3 - having a sub-circular body depiciting a human bust, possibly of classical design, within a rounded frame. The attachment loop is broken and missing and at the opposing end the hook is incomplete. All elements of this hooked tag are very worn. For comparison see Read (2008) p92-94.

An incomplete cast copper alloy barrel dress fastener of Read's (2008) Class C Type 3, dating to the late medieval / post-medieval period. The fastener has a rounded front but is missing the flat back plate. There is a broken hook projecting from one end of the fastener, and a large, secondary hole towards the rear terminal. The front of the fastening is decorated with a cross-hatched design boound top and bottom by a double linear. An identical example can be seen in Read (2008:54) no. 168.

An incomplete and bent copper alloy hooked tag, dating to the Post Medieval period. On the face side it has a devolved floriate design consisting of two oval "circles" with three smaller circles or scrolls within. The complete object would have had three attachment knops, two ornamental knops and either a blunt hook ot squared loop. This dress fitting is a Read (2008:175) Class A Type 8 post-medieval hooked tag dating from c. AD 1550-1700.
