A Post Medieval cast copper-alloy dress fastener hook-piece, dating from the 16-17th century AD. It has an oval plate with three circular loops for attachment: two at the base, protruding to each side, and one at the other end. There is a debased bifurcated knop midway along the long sides; one is missing and the other is abraded. An integral rectangular loop emerges from the pair of attachment loops at the base. The upper surface of the panel is decorated with a moulded symmetrical floral design with a central quatrefoil with knop at its centre and two coiled 'leaves' at either side.…
