It is a rectangular frame round a rectangular opening. A post medieval copper alloy wire blunt hooked clasp of Read's Class A, Type 1, dating from AD 1500 - 1900. The clasp is made from a single piece of heavy gauge wire, which has been bent back on itself to form a hook and has its ends curled into a pair of flanking attachment loops. It has a dark green patina. This form was used until modern times, but the patination suggests an earlier date. Compare with SUR-3488DA and Read (2008) page 155 - 156.
