An incomplete Post Medieval cast copper alloy dress fastener. This fastener has decoration on the front and is flat at the rear. This is one of two objects that would have been used together as a hook and eye fastening device to join straps or clothing. although incomplete this piece was probably the eye part of the fastening. The clasp is sub-oval in plan and has a rectangular attachment loop at one end. There is a perforated knop projecting outwards from each side of the oval body of the fastener.
