A cast copper-alloy 'eye' from a two piece hook and eye dress or clothing fastener of post-medieval date (c.1500-1700). Description: The eye consists of a circular 11.6mm diameter attachment loop which is integral with a plate that has a raised central boss and three 'sunburst style' wavy arms above. There are two fixing apertures either side of the central boss that have moulded collars between the apertures and the attachment loop. Measurements: Length 19.9mm, width 14.9mm, thickness 1.9mm and weight 1.9g.

Description: The hooked clasp has a large square plate with rounded attachment lobes with square collars and a flat forward-curved incomplete hook. The body is rectangular with seven projecting knops on the corners, sides and attachment end, and a fleur-like moulding at the junction with the hook. At the top of the dress hook is an uneven edge, presumably where where the trapezoid loop which has been broken off by an old break; at the bottom is a D sectioned hook. There are two circular rivets at the base of the shell of unknown functin. A complete Post Medieval copper alloy fastener or toggle. The base is the shape of an elongated and slightly pointed oval and sub-oval in section. The base is connected to the stem, which is now bent but would have been straight during use, and terminates in a double loop. There are raised collars around the loops on both sides and the mold seam is still visible at the base. There is a dark green patina covering the entire object, and the base and stem show some wear on the surface. An incomplete copper alloy toggle, of Post-Medieval date. The object has an ovoid body with pointed ends. From the long side of the ovoid projects an integral shaft with a flattened double loop terminal. One of the loops is now broken. The object is undecorated; it is covered in a thick dark green patina but file marks are visible on all three parts. The patina has worn off on part of the shaft revealing a brass coloured alloy core. The object measures 25.8mm (length) x 23.0mm (width) x 8.0mm (thickness) and weighs 7.22g.

An Early Post Medieval cast copper alloy dress fastening. The tag is sub lozenge shaped in plan with three attachment knops and ornamental knops on either side. A rectangular projection from one end of the lozenge where the paired hooked fastener attaches. There is molded floral decoration in the center of the lozenge; the reverse is undecorated. Read Class A Type 10. The tag is 36.1mm long, 21.5mm wide, 2.1mm thick and weighs 5.48 grams.

This item seems to be an incomplete Post Medieval silver dressing fitting, made in one plane. The object is sub-triangular in plan, with three larger holes, which almost look like mount fittings, also aligned in the shape of a triangle, but oriented in the opposite way. Each corner of the initial sub-triangular orientation is comprised of three smaller holes surrounding a small raised pellet. A corroded and incomplete post-medieval cast copper-alloy dress fastener hook-piece (16-17th century AD). It has an oval plate with three loops for attachment: two at the base, protruding to each side, and one at the other end with lateral protrusions at its base giving the effect of a debased trefoil. There is a debased bifurcated knop midway along the long sides; both are now abraded. The hook has been lost just below the attachment loops after a diagonal break. A Post-Medieval copper-alloy dress fastener. The head is circular in section and oval is plan with pointed terminals; it is 18.6mm wide and 7.5mm thick in the centre. From the centre of the head projects a narrow stem which is oval in section. The stem terminates in two circular loops, one on each side of the stem. It is 22.1mm long, 18.5mm wide, 7.3mm thick and weighs 6.5 grams. Several similar examples have been recorded on the database, including WMID-905A14, SWYOR-131B66, HAMP-S40E35 and KENT-7B0A04.

Post medieval hooked fastener. Cast in copper alloy, this fastener now has a pale green patina. The retangular fastener has a row of three openwork circles surrounded by moulded decoration positioned just above the in tact hook. The rectangular loop has a rope work moulding along the attachment edge. The fastener is 29.27mm wide, 13.46mm thick and it weighs 1.6 grams.

Copper alloy oval hasp with floral decoration which would have been paired with a similarly shaped and decorated piece bearing a broad hook. The hasp has a rectangular frame projecting from one end into which the hook from the other section would have fitted, and three projecting circular lugs for sewing onto fabric. The hasp measures 32mm by 28mm and is 1.5mm thick. It is of 17th century date.

A post-medieval copper alloy dress fastener, probably dating to the 16th century. This object is constructed from ?three lengths of copper-alloy of wire shaped and fastened together using a thinner gauge creating a wound wire accessory of a type known to date to the 16th century. One piece of the thicker gauge wire has been folded in half to form a hook at one end, with the two terminals originally curled into spirals at the other; one has been broken before the curls. A cast silver gilt 'looped' portion of a dress fastener, dating c.1500-1650. The item is sub-triangular in shape and is formed from a chubby head with wings or vegetativeelements sprouting from the crown of the head.
