A Post Medieval cast copper-alloy dress fastener 'eye piece' of Read's Class A Type 1, dating to c.1500-1650.
Sub-oval plate, domed on the face and concave on the reverse. Three 'sewing holes' protrude from the plate, rounded loops on either side and a pointed loop at one end. At the other end is a larger rectangular loop to accept a blunt hook. The face is decorated with a relief moulded chequered pattern, with the surface displaying a pale green patina.

An incomplete Post-Medieval cast copper-alloy dress fastener of Read's Class E Type 3, dating to c.1500-1650.
Sub-oval open-work plate with piercings around the outer edge. An old break at the base probably once formed a hooked arm, with a rectangular attachment loop at the opposite end. The face has moulded decoration of two chevrons with possibly a thistle head or similar above. The reverse is plain and flat and the surface displays an even green patina.

A quite corroded Post-Medieval cast copper-alloy clothing fastening loop, dating to c.1550-1700.
One half of a 'hook and eye' fastener type, consisting of a sub-triangular plate of plano-convex form with moulded decoration on the face and two sewing holes adjacent to one another in the centre. The plate terminates with a trefoil of moulded knops at one end and a large curved sub-oval attachment loop at the other. The surface displays a green/brown patina.
Length 26.2mm, width 20.2mm, thickness 2mm and weight 2.9g.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy dress fastener eye-clasp depicting a human face with an inscribed scroll beneath, probably dating to c.1500-1800.
Plano-convex cross-section with the reverse being plain and flat. Sewing holes to either side of the face, one being incomplete with an incomplete inscribed scroll bearing the letters E - K I below these. At the base are two broken protrusions that would probably have formed the attachment loop. The face has pellet formed hair and a floral decoration to each side of the neck. The surface displays a patchy dark green patina.

A complete Post-Medieval copper-alloy dress fastener, dating to c.AD 1500 - 1750. The fastener is sub-lozenge. The dress fastener consists of a rectangular attachment loop, flanked by two smaller circular attachment knops at each of its inner corners. The plate expands to a sub-lozenge form with a double knop at its angle. The opposing end has a circular attachment loop. The plate is decorated with an eight petalled flower, the rear is undecorated.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy post-medieval dress fastener dating to c.AD 1500-1600. Read Type Class E Type 4 (Read 2008, p. 107-8, nos. 423-26)
The dress fastener is lozenge shaped with a trapezoidal loop and a broken curved hook. It is cast in one-piece with moulded relief and openwork, decorated with an engrailed border around a fleur-de-lis in openwork. The reverse is flat.
The entire object measures 32.14 mm in length, 15.39 mm in width, maximum of 1.33 mm thickness, and 1.67g in weight

The dress fastener is sub-oval with a rectangular loop. Its hook is missing due to old break. It is cast in one-piece with moulded relief and openwork, decorated with a central equal-armed cross with a central pellet worn flat, within a linear circle and beaded and engrailed edge. The reverse is flat.
The entire object measures 22.88 mm in length, 15.88 mm in width, maximum of 1.27 mm thickness, and 1.60g in weight

It is sub-oval in plan with a rectangular projection at one end, separated from the remainder of the fastener by a shallow ridge, bent forwards to form a blunt fastening hook. The dress hook is circular with a rectangular attachment loop. The body of the dress hook has a central equal-armed cross with a raised central pellet within a linear circle. Each quarter has three circular apertures. The edge of the linear circle has a beaded and engrailed edge. The hook at the base is missing due to old breaks. It has a green patina.

An incomplete Post-Medieval cast copper-alloy 'hasp and clasp' dress fastener of Read's class A type 2, dating to c.1550-1700.
It is uncertain whether it is the hook or eye element ot the fastener. The oval flat plate has one complete attachment loop on one side with the visible remains of two more, one is opposite and another on the end of the plate below. Above is a double ridged moulded collar that is directly beneath an old break. The face has a very faint foliate decoration, with the reverse being plain.

A cast copper alloy blunt-hooked clasp, Class A, Type 8 dating to the early post-medieval period. This is the hooked section. The object has an oval panel decorated with floral or foliate design with a beaded border. At one end is a flattened hook which is now broken. Either side of this hook are two rounded attachment loops. At the other end there is a third attachment loop. On each side is a small ornamental lug or knop. The reverse of the object is plain. Reed (2008, 175) illustrates a very similar example No. 664
