A cast copper alloy, post-medieval dress fastening c. 16th – 17th century.  Read Class E, Type 3. A pierced rectangular frame with raised outer edges and central pellets within a raised ‘V’ ridge, and a collar at the junction of the hook and plate.  The attachment loop and most of the hook are missing. The object has a pale brown/green patina, and measures: - 21mm long. Class E, Type 3. See Read 2008, p. 104, Nos. 402 and 403.

The dress fastener has a central oval plate with a trefoil of attachment-knobs with circular perforations, in the ogee style. At one end is a rectangular loop, now partially broken. Undecorated. Sub-rectangular body with rounded side protrusions at the base either side of an extended gently tapering hook arm that bends backwards, terminating in a sharp point. At the apex is a damaged trapezoidal attachment loop. An incomplete copper-alloy blunt-hooked dress fastener of Post-Medieval date, c.AD 1600 - 1700. Reads Class A, Type 2. The main plate is sub-ovate with two complete ovate attachment knops projecting from either side of the outer edges. A third attachment knop is present to the pointed end of the plate. The wider end of the plate displays worn projections which would have formed an integral eye. Copper alloy 'male' tag from a pair hooked tags. The tag has a sub-oval plate with a large rectangular hook at one end (now truncated). Either side of the plate are two pierced lugs for attachment with a two further at the rear that clank a scallop shaped projection. The centre of the plate is decorated with a human face flanked by crescent shaped drapery design. This artefact dates to the 16th century.
