A complete copper-alloy probable fastener, possibly button and loop style, dating from the late Iron Age to early Roman period (100 BC - AD 150). There are no direct classification parallels for this item, though it is likely related to Wild (1970) type 1 button and loop fasteners. The item is comprised of two conjoined disc lugs. The lugs are arranged side by side. The upper surfaces of the discs are decorated with four raised circles, increasing in size. Gilded copper alloy chain mail armour hook, broken into two pieces. When complete, this would have been an S-shaped object in plan, with circular terminals, one of a pair which together would have formed a hinged lyre-shaped fitting (see M.120). The smaller fragment consists of one terminal. The rest of the object is complete. The front surface appears to have been gilded, and shows moulded decoration. Length 17.4mm, Width 11.6mm, Thickness 8.7mm, Weight 3.4g. Baluster type, minus both terminals and the circular or rectangular attachment loop. Cast copper alloy button, toggle or clothes fastener. The object is undecorated. The head is in the form of a flattened sphere. There is a slight indentation on one side. The shank is looped; this appears to be integral with the body of the object. The metal is mid greyish-green and slightly pitted.

A copper-alloy object of probable late Iron Age to Roman date. It is currently unclear exactly what this artefact was used for, but there is a possibility that it is either a dress fastener or a terret ring. The article consists of a semi-circular loop. At a right angle to the loop, at its flat sided rear there is a projection with a T shaped gap in the rear, presumably for attachment.
