Description: The weight is circular and has raised elements on both sides though are incredibly worn and obscured by patination so it is not clear if this was intended decoration. It has a mottled off-white to grey patination.

A plano-convex disc of lead, 76.4mm in diameter and 615g in weight (approximately 2 Roman libra), most likely used as a trade weight. The disc has angled sides with circumferential ridges which suggest it was cast in the base of a ceramic jar or other vessel. The thickness is uneven, varying from 15 to 20mm.

Lead Roman weight. The weight is flat on the top and the bottom and has slatnted sides making it trapazoidal in scetion. On the top is inscribed VIII, represetng eight in Roman numerals. On each of the letters is a head and foot serif.
It weighs 219g, which divided by its indicated mass (eight) makes divisions of 27.375, which is 0.075g underweight for each ounce. This confirms this is a Roman weight.

Complete possible trade weight of copper alloy. Object is an octagonal shape, and is plain and undecorated. There are a few linear scratches on one side, and a possible number 7? In the centre but it is hard to confirm if it is a convenient looking scratch or an actual imprint on the object. It has a green/grey patina and a rough surface. Exact date is unknown, thought to possibly be post medieval. The object weighs 25.8g and has a width of 24.62mm, a height of 26.24mm and a thickness of 7.05mm.

Complete Lead Weight. It is bell shaped, and is smooth and undecorated. It has a hole in the centre of its top which runs through to its flat base, which is assumed to be where it would have been suspended . It weighs 43.6g and has a height of 19.23mm and a width of 21.25mm. Its exact date is unknown but is thought to be Post Medieval in date.

Complete Copper Alloy Georgian Trade Weight. Circular in shape with a raised rim. The obverse features a crowned ‘GR’ stamped just below 12 o clock, and the word ‘IMPERIAL’ stamped just above 6 o clock. The reverse has many linear scratches. It has an overall brown/green patina. It weighs 26.1g, has a diameter of 30.04mm and is 6.75mm thick.

Lead weight of unknown date. A shallow truncated cone with a flat base and top and gently sloping sides, and a c.6mm diameter straight-sided central perforation. It has patchy brown discoloration at the surface and is a white/cream colour otherwise. It stands 14.2mm high and is slightly ovoid in plan at the base, with maximum & minimum widths of 20.4 to 18.8mm. The top is round in plan with a diameter of c.11mm.
It weighs 20.92g, which does not fit particularly well within the usual increments in the averdepois system, so this may have been used as a gaming piece or spindle whorl…

Complete Copper Alloy Queen Anne Trade Weight. The weight is circular in shape with a small raised rim. There is an ‘A’ stamped at 9 o clock and an image likened to a coffee pot stamped at 6 o clock, thought to be an ewer (The London founders trade mark). The reverse is plain. The weight has a Brass like patina, and is pitted and marked all over. The object weighs 23.7g and is 30.14mm in diameter.
