A cast lead and iron steelyard weight, of probable Roman date, AD 43 - 410. It is round in plan and conical in profile, with extensive iron corrosion at both longitudinal ends where the stubs of suspension loops are located. The broader end is concave where the lead has shrunk on cooling, and suggests that it was probably cast in an open mould. There are no markings and the surface has a well-developed white patination.
The object is up to 35.7mm in diameter and 32.5mm high, and it weighs 178.5 grams.

Cast lead shield-shaped weight, medieval c.13th-15th century. Raised central field decorated with a lion facing left (te upper part of the deign is damaged). Recessed step decorated with oblique lines giving it a corded appearence. Pierced at the top of the shield, pierced from the reverse using a pointed object with rectangular section (minimum width 5.3mm & thickness 3.6mm). Thick powdery white patina, some of the original surface missing. Length 39.4mm, width 33.03mm, thickness 14.3mm, weight 100.3g.

Cast lead weight. Circular disc shaped, slightly plano-concave, central dimple on concave side. The other side has a plain incised line border c.5mm from the edge. Numerous scratch marks on both surfaces. Diameter 37.05mm, thickness c.5.1mm, weight 41.18g.
Probably medieval or early post medieval, although it does not correspond to a standard weight system (see Egan, 1998, 'Medieval Household' The Stationary Office [p301-4)
