A complete probable Post Medieval lead-alloy lead weight dating to circa AD 1550-1700. It is teardrop shaped with a flat base, bulbous lower element and narrowed neck. At the apex of the neck is separately cast ferrous circular-sectioned loop. The loop is free from corrosion indicating a fairly recent date.

A probable lead-alloy Post Medievavl weight. The piece is anthropomorphic with an oval-sectioned head and rectangular sectioned torso. On the front of the object two are two opposed oval incised eyes and a nose made by two parallel longitudinal incised grooves below the eyes. The back of the head is decorated with crudely incised oblique grooves representing the hair. On the reverse, at the lower edge of the torso, the piece is bevelled. A lead weight of probable medieval to post-medieval date. The object is a crude, flattened, sub-square shape with a simple raised cross on one face dividing it into four sections. The surface is heavily corroded and there is damage in places. Weights like these were made locally on small scale from the Roman period onwards and as such are difficult to date precisely when not found in a secure, dated archaeological context. A late medieval or post-Medieval lead shield-shaped lead weight. The outer face is decorated with three upwards-pointing transverse chevrons. The surface of the metal is corroded and there is damage in places.  Biggs and Withers (2000, p.34-6) suggest that shield-shaped lead weights were introduced in the second half of the 14th century AD and remained in use as late as the 17th, 18th and even 19th centuries. A complete lead quatrefoil-shaped weight of probable medieval to early post-medieval date. The object is a flattened quatrefoil-shaped. Its outer face has a raised lozenge-shaped in the centre, its corners extending to the outer edges of the object and its outer face decorated with a raised fleur-de-lis. The outer face of each corner lobe is then decorated with three raised pellets and a raised linear border around its outer each. A complete cast copper-alloy trade weight of post-medieval to modern date. The weight is circular in shape with a raised rim around the outer edge of the outer face, measuring 3.86mm in thickness. Set in the centre of the front face is a recessed circular panel. SUFFOLK is inscribed towards one end with a horizontal T-shape in the centre and the letters 'DT L' within an oval border below. The reverse has a circular pit in the centre surrounded by a circular depression.  Shares similarities on the database with SF-E89163.

A complete conical lead medieval to post-medieval standing weight. It is an elongated, asymetrical conical shape with a flat base and damage to the apex suggesting that a loop was positioned here originally. The surface of the metal is heavily corroded.  Biggs (1992) suggests that this style of pyramidal or conical freestanding weight appeared after the Norman conquest. They then appear to have been used throughout the medieval period and probable to some degree beyond, although more attempts were made to standardise the official weight system from the 15th century onwards. …
