Age uncertain, crudely cast, lead alloy, probable unofficial, trade type weight. Free standing, oval base, conical shape with flat apex and no suspension loop, but there is a small central, circular, dimple/recess at the base. Stable white/pale grey patina but a number of scratches and dents probably from agricultural machinery. This has an unknown date from Roman period to Post medieval (43-1799AD). Ref. Age uncertain - possibly Roman, lead alloy, crudely cast, probable unofficial small conical shaped weight. Length 14.7mm, Width 15mm, Thickness 13.9mm, Diameter 15mm, Weight 14.1mm. Conical shape with small flange around the base and pimple on the top/apex. But also four feint ribs down the cone shape and a small dimple roughly in the centre of the base. Ref. Age uncertain. Probably Roman. lead alloy, cast, oval probable steelyard weight. Length 31.3mm, Width 25.6mm, Thickness 17.5mm, Weight 61.9g. Flattened oval or 'pear drop' shape, plain lead weight with rusty remains of a probable suspension loop at the top. The steelyard was used throughout the Roman world and, being portable was employed by many street sellers and merchants. White powdery surface with a number of small dents and scratches inflicted by agricultural practices i.e. ploughing. Ref.
