A complete possibly Medieval lead standing weight, c.AD 1100-1500.
The weight is an octagonal pyramid, fluted at the sides resulting in an irregular octagon cross-section. The weight is wider at the base which is has rounded edges. The upper part of the weight tapers inwards slightly to form a rounded integral suspension loop.
Similar weights have been recorded on the database which include: CORN-C10729, SUR-06BD5A, YORYM-0D8EC7, NARC-0EED3B.
Read (2001) illustrates a similar pyramidal weight of almost twice the weight, on p.120, fig.77, no.861 which is dated from the late Medieval …

A complete Post Medieval cast lead shot, c. AD 1600-1800.
The object is spherical in form with the remains of a casting sprue. The object is covered in pits and scratches and has a light cream/grey patina. The casting seam is no longer visible.

An incomplete post-Medieval copper-alloy trade weight (c. 1600-c. 1800).
This weight is circular and flat and the sides are missing. The inner face has concentric grooves and a lathe centre mark at the centre. At 6 0' clock a stamped verification mark is in the form of a crown over a letter or symbol. The base has shallow grooved concentric rings and a lathe centre mark at the centre. This face also has filed adjustment marks.
Diameter: 50.0mm; thickness: 4.1mm. Weight: 49.45g.
This object is very worn with a green patina and may have been adapted for another use.
